Privacy Policy

Numae calculates number profiles and moon cycles. It has no account to sign into, and the people you save stay with you. This policy describes exactly what the app and this website handle, and why.

Overview

Numae is a calculation tool: a number-profile calculator, a chart and timing reference, and a moon-cycle timeline. There is no account, no login, and no registration. We never ask for your name, your email address, or a contact list, and the app has no user-generated content, no chat, no social features, no advertising, and no in-app purchases.

The app saves the people whose profiles you calculate, including their birth details. That information is yours: it lives on your device and in your own iCloud, never on a server we run. The rest of this page explains it in full.

The People You Save

For each person you add, the app stores a first and last name, a birth date, a birth time, a birth place with its coordinates and time zone offset, and the order you put them in.

This is kept on your device. If you are signed into iCloud and the app has the entitlement, it is also mirrored to your own iCloud key-value storage, which belongs to your Apple Account. That mirror is what carries your people between your devices and lets them survive a lost phone. We have no access to it, Apple provides it under your account rather than ours, and no copy of it reaches any server we operate. If you are not signed into iCloud, everything simply stays on the device.

Deleting a person in the app removes them from the device and from that iCloud storage. Deleting the app removes the local copy.

Location

The app does not request or access your device location. A birth place is something you type in, not something the app senses.

What Is Sent For A Calculation

Chart, timing, and moon-cycle features need astronomical positions that are too large to ship inside an app, so the app asks our server for them.

When it does, it sends only the birth moment and the point on Earth: year, month, day, hour in UTC, latitude, and longitude, plus your choice of zodiac and calculation method. It does not send the person’s name, the place name you typed, any identifier for them, or any identifier for you or your device. The numbers are what the mathematics needs, and nothing accompanies them.

Our server uses those numbers to compute the result and returns it. The request is not stored as a record of a person, because there is nothing in it that names one.

To keep the calculation service from being abused, the server counts recent requests against the network address they arrived from, holding that count for a rolling window of one hour. The address is used for that count and is not stored alongside any calculation or any of your saved people.

Anonymous Usage Analytics And Crash Reporting

Numae is built to send anonymous usage events to PostHog and crash reports to Sentry, so we can tell which parts of the app are used and what breaks. Both are configured to be inert when no key is set, and no key ships in the current release, so at the time of writing the app sends neither.

When they are enabled, the rule the app is built to is a strict one: events carry only anonymous app context such as the app version, the platform, and which screen was opened. Names, birth details, and any identifier for a saved person are never included in an event or a crash report. There are no advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

This Website

The support, privacy, and terms pages on amirlabs.app are sometimes opened from inside the app. Those pages measure page views, roughly how long a page was open, the approximate country the visit came from (derived from the network address, which we do not store as part of the event), the type of device, and which in-page links were used.

To keep those counts honest across visits, an anonymous random identifier is stored in your browser’s local storage. It contains no personal information, sets no cookies, and is not shared with anyone. These pages deliberately run a reduced form of analytics: there is no session recording, no automatic capture of clicks or typing, and no replay of anything entered into the support form.

If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, the website collects nothing at all.

The Support Form

If you choose to write to us through the support form, we receive the email address and the message you type, delivered through Resend, our email provider. We use them only to reply to you.

The contents of your message and your email address are never sent to our analytics. We record only that a message was submitted, which app it was about, whether it was sent from inside the app or from the web, and a coarse size band for the message (for example “50-200 characters”).

Purchases

Numae is paid for once, on the App Store. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no paywall, so the app holds no purchase or payment information of any kind. Apple handles the transaction under its own privacy policy, and we receive only the aggregate sales reporting Apple provides to every developer, which does not identify you.

Children

Numae is a general-audience calculation tool rather than an app aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. There is no advertising, no in-app purchasing, and no social feature.

Data Sharing And Retention

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. The only third parties that receive anything are the service providers named above, acting on our behalf: PostHog (anonymous analytics), Sentry (crash reports), and Resend (support email delivery). Their own policies are at posthog.com/privacy, sentry.io/privacy, and resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Apple’s iCloud, where your people are mirrored, is covered by Apple’s privacy policy and your own Apple Account, not by an agreement between us.

Anonymous analytics and crash data, when enabled, are retained by those providers under their standard retention periods. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to answer you.

Your Choices

Because we hold nothing that identifies you, there is normally nothing to request or delete. You can remove any saved person from within the app, stop the iCloud mirror by turning iCloud Drive off for Numae in your device settings, stop website analytics by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser, and simply not use the support form if you would rather not send us your email address. If you have written to us and want that email deleted, ask and we will delete it.
