Terms of Service
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Simple terms for a small Mac menu bar utility.
Acceptance
By downloading or using Netsignal, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
License
Netsignal is licensed to you, not sold. You may use it for personal or work purposes on the Macs your Apple Account allows. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the app.
What Netsignal Shows
Netsignal shows whether your internet connection appears to be working and which country your connection appears to come from. It works this out from quick checks and from where our hosting provider places your network address, so it can be wrong or out of date: a VPN, a proxy, a captive portal, or the provider’s location data can all affect it. Treat it as a helpful indication, not a guarantee, and do not rely on it alone for anything where privacy, security, or legal compliance depends on your location.
Your Connection History
The chart’s history stays on your Mac and is deleted automatically after 30 days. We cannot see or restore it. Deleting the app removes it.
Analytics And Crash Reporting
By using Netsignal you agree that the app may collect the anonymous usage and crash information described in our Privacy Policy. That information is not tied to your identity, is used only to improve the app, and is never sold or used for advertising. If you do not want it collected, please do not use the app.
Support Requests
If you contact us through the support form, you agree that we may store and use your email address and message for the sole purpose of replying to you. Do not send us passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information through the form.
Service Availability
Netsignal relies on Apple’s connectivity check and on amirlabs.app to work out its answers. Those services may be updated, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice, and when they cannot be reached the app may show less or nothing. We are not liable for any interruption in service.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code within Netsignal are the property of Amir Ebrahimi. All rights reserved.
Limitation of Liability
Netsignal is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or from relying on what it shows.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
